conjugated linoleic acid (CLA)

There is a growing body of evidence that shows some protective benefits from the ingestion of a class of dietary fatty acids called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).

It is not clearly understood how CLA works. Results from animal studies have shown that CLA inhibits cancer-causing mammary tumors.

CLA is found in meat from ruminant animals and dairy products. Research to date has not studied the relationship of CLA to colon cancer.
