HealthLink: New nutrition resources for your practice

HealthLink…news to use for health professionals

Are you planning for upcoming educational sessions, clinics or programs? Are you investigating new nutrition education materials to share with clients or for your reference? The nutrition team at the Beef Information Centre offers you the following complimentary resources. All are available in English and French.

1. New! A Matter of Fat Ready-to-Use Presentations: Five interactive and free PowerPoint and HTML presentations are now available to complement the popular A Matter of Fat booklet. The presentations are designed to assist health professionals and educators to lead sessions on sources of dietary fat and on how to reduce the total fat in the diet. Dietitians from across Canada participated in the review process.

2. New! Nutrition Perspective: Anticancer Effects of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) This is a four-page science-based reference with a client handout. It highlights current research on CLA and cancer and has been reviewed by experts in research and cancer education.

3. Iron Matters Series: This series includes four different iron pamphlets, one health professional reference and an interactive web-based quiz. Pamphlets focus on iron and infants, iron and teen females and iron and adult women. To complement these three, the most recent booklet on “iron rich eating” was also developed.

4. HealthLink…news to use for health professionals. A monthly e-bulletin on current nutrition and health issues.

HealthLink is an e-mail newsletter from the team of registered dietitians at the Beef Information Centre: a non-profit organization committed to provide credible and timely information. Please share it with colleagues.
